Church donates IT Equipment to Government Ministry

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints donates Computers to government ministry

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, commonly known as the "Mormons", through its Humanitarian arm, the Latter Day Saints Charities donated twenty desktop computers, five laptops and one server unit to the Ministry of Public Service, Labor and Social Welfare. These computers were donated to assist this government ministry in their Research and Economics Department.

Speaking at the handover ceremony which took place in the boardroom of the Ministry of Public Service, Labor and Social Welfare on the 22nd of November, 2013, Honorable Minister Nicholas Goche expressed his gratitude on behalf of his ministry and the government of Zimbabwe in general.  He mentioned that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints which is found in 166 countries of the world was like a united nations and mentioned that he was grateful for the work that the church is doing in Zimbabwe through the church's humanitarian arm known as the Latter Day Saints Charities. Honorable Minister Goche welcomed the involvement of the Church in assisting the disadvantaged members of our society in Zimbabwe as it has been brought to his attention that the Church has drilled several boreholes and covered individual wells in the communities to alleviate the water shortage and also to prevent water borne diseases that are a continued challenge to the government of Zimbabwe and its people in several communities.

The Director of Training and Development in the Ministry, Mrs. Maramba also expressed her gratitude to the Latter Day Saints Charities and the Church as a whole for the donation which she said will go a long way to  help boost the training resources for her Ministry and department.  Mrs Maramba acknowledged the wonderful work that the Christian community is doing in helping to improve the welfare of the disadvantaged in the community and looked forward to a continued mutually beneficial relationship with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
