More Than 60 Mormon Youth Donate Blood in Harare

On January 22nd, More than 60 Young Single Adults from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints gathered at the blood center in Harare to donate blood.

Humanitarian, Patriarch and former Rugby player, Reginald Nield, organized a trip for the youth to go to the Transfusion Centre in Harare to donate blood, creating a hive of activity. Thankfully in return, they each received their ‘hemoglobin count’ and their ‘blood type’ for free. Unfortunately a few of the girls were underweight (less than 90 pounds) and were not allowed to donate blood, but only two of the Youth fainted!

Some of those attending had to travel great distances to participate in this service activity to help others.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints often gives members the opportunity to donate their time for community service. This time they also donated a part of themselves. They all wore smiles as they left the building.
